Installation
Download Tezgah for macOS, Windows or Linux, open it for the first time, and keep it up to date.
Tezgah runs on macOS (Apple silicon and Intel), Windows (x64 and arm64) and Linux (x64 and arm64). Get the latest version from the download section or the releases page.
| Platform | File |
|---|---|
| macOS, Apple silicon | Tezgah-<version>-arm64.dmg |
| macOS, Intel | Tezgah-<version>-x64.dmg |
| Windows | Tezgah-Setup-<version>.exe |
| Linux | Tezgah-<version>-x86_64.AppImage or .deb (arm64 builds too) |
macOS
- Open the
.dmgand drag Tezgah to Applications. - Builds aren’t signed yet, so the first time, right-click Tezgah in Applications and choose Open, then confirm. After that it opens normally.
Windows
- Run the installer.
- If SmartScreen warns you, choose More info → Run anyway.
Linux
- AppImage: make it executable (
chmod +x Tezgah-*.AppImage) and run it. - .deb:
sudo apt install ./Tezgah-*.deb.
What else you need
Tezgah shows a short checklist on first launch:
- Claude Code, for Claude sessions. Install it, then run
claudeonce and sign in. Your plan limits then show in the sidebar. - git, for the Changes panel and worktrees.
- The GitHub CLI (
gh), optional, for pull requests.
Updates
Tezgah asks GitHub for a newer version at launch and every six hours. Since 1.0.3, updates install themselves: the macOS app, the Windows installer and AppImages download the new version in the background and put it in place when you quit Tezgah. Restart in the sidebar installs it right away.
- A
.debcan’t replace itself, so Tezgah tells you about the new version and links the release instead. - Tezgah needs to be in a folder you can write to (for example
/Applicationson macOS) to update itself. - Settings → Install updates turns automatic installs off; Settings → Check for updates stops checking altogether.
On 1.0.2 or older? Download 1.0.3 once by hand; after that, updates come on their own.
