Panes & layouts
Split a session into terminals and browser panes, save layouts, add your own commands, find text and drop files.
Split panes
A session can hold several panes: terminals and browser panes, side by side or stacked.
| Action | macOS | Windows / Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Split right | ⌘D | Alt+Shift+= |
| Split down | ⌥⌘D | Alt+Shift+- |
| Open browser | ⇧⌘L | Ctrl+Shift+Y |
| Close pane | ⌘W | Ctrl+Shift+W |
Each pane has a bar with its status and buttons to split and close it. Drag the line between panes to resize them; double-click it to even them out.
Layouts
Set up a session the way you like it (say, Claude on the left, a dev server and a browser on the right), then choose Save Session as Layout… from the + menu. The layout appears in the + menu; pick it to open the same panes, running the same commands, in any project.
Custom commands
In Settings → Commands, add your own commands, one per line as Name: command:
Dev server: npm run dev
Codex: codex
Tests: npm test -- --watch
Each one runs in a new pane. Start them from the + menu, the quick switcher (⌘P) or tezgah run "Dev server".
Find in terminal
⌘F searches the focused terminal. Enter and ⇧Enter step through matches; there’s an option to match case.
Drop and paste files
Drag files or screenshots onto a terminal to type their paths, which is how you hand an image to Claude. Pasting a copied file or image does the same. In an SSH session, dropped files are uploaded to the server first.
Font size
⌘= and ⌘- change the terminal font size; ⌘0 resets it. You can also set it in Settings → Terminal font size.
