Default terminal

Make Tezgah the terminal your desktop opens:

  • macOS: Tezgah opens shell scripts (.command, .sh) and ssh:// links. Folders open with Tezgah from Finder’s Open With.
  • Linux: Tezgah becomes GNOME’s terminal and takes -e / -x commands like other terminals.
  • Windows keeps its own default terminal setting for itself. Right-click a folder and choose Open in Tezgah instead.

Opening a folder starts

When you open a folder from Finder, Explorer, your file manager or the command line: start Claude or a shell.

Updates

  • Check for updates looks for a newer Tezgah on GitHub at launch and every six hours.
  • Install updates downloads a new version in the background and puts it in place when you quit Tezgah; Restart in the sidebar installs it right away. For the macOS app, the Windows installer and AppImages; a .deb links the release instead.
