Sessions & projects
How projects and sessions work, how conversations resume, and how to organize them with pinning, archiving and the quick switcher.
Projects
A project is a folder. Every session belongs to one, and the sidebar groups sessions by project. Collapse a project with the arrow beside its name; drag projects to reorder them. Right-click a project to start a session in it, reveal it in Finder or remove it.
Sessions
A session is one piece of work: a Claude conversation, a shell, an SSH connection. It has a title (double-click to rename), a status, and one or more panes.
Each session shows, under its title:
- What it’s doing: Working · Edit src/auth.ts, Needs you · Bash npm test, Done.
- Its git branch.
- The ports its programs listen on, such as
:4173. Click one to open it in a browser pane. - Its pull request, when the GitHub CLI is installed.
Conversations that resume
Each Claude session is pinned to its Claude conversation. Quit Tezgah, open it again, and the session continues the same conversation. Shell panes keep their last screen too.
Recent conversations (⇧⌘O) lists your Claude conversations from every project, even ones started outside Tezgah. Pick one to open it as a session.
Organize
- Drag sessions to reorder them, within a project.
- Pin to Top keeps a session above the others.
- Archive a session you’re done with. It leaves the sidebar but its conversation is kept; restore it from Archived at the bottom of the project, or find it in the quick switcher.
- Close a session with ⇧⌘W. If an agent is still working in it, Tezgah asks first.
The quick switcher
⌘P opens a switcher over the window. Type part of a session’s title or project to jump to it, archived sessions included, or run one of your custom commands.
Context and tokens
The header of a Claude session shows how full its context is. Hover it for the details: the tokens in context now, the tokens sent (and how many came from cache) and the tokens written. Tezgah reads these from the conversation’s transcript.
